This was shot 80 miles West of Chicago inside Shabbona State Park.
I set up my StarAdventurer tracker and loaded my Nikon D850 with a rented Nikon 600mm f/4E lens.
This was definitely the most weight I’ve put on this rig, was very worried it wouldn’t track correctly – but it did just great!
5 secs, f/4.5 & ISO 400, single image.
It was 6 degrees F without the wind, my eyes were tearing so much it’s amazing I was able to focus.
Not a lot of processing, basic astro stuff to clean up the sky and sharpen things up.
